It was a treat to see Vanessa Angel (Queen Rosalind) speak in an English accent for once. Her affected posh voice is rather self-conscious though; I felt that, ironically, perhaps an American actress would have done a better job. Marina Sirtis does an okay posh voice - and it was nice for me to see her in something post-TNG. Jack Turner makes a tremendous prince-with-some-growing-up-to-do, in spite of the fact he falls prey to mistake no 1 below. And the small Idaho town setting is not suffocatingly quaint (something I often feel with Hallmark movies set in small towns).
I have watched a couple of Hallmark movies and I thoroughly enjoyed them but this time, I was a little disappointed in this one. You see, we all know well in the story that a hardworking girl pretends to be her boss, prince falls in love with her, Prince hates her for covering up and in the end they live happily ever after. We all have heard of that before since we were all kids. I think this movie should've had a better story so that it would make us viewers, interested to make it different from the rest of the usual fairy tale stories we know! The actors Taylor Cole and Jack Turner were good in this but I think it's mostly the story lines fault that I felt this movie didn't flatter me enough!
Hallmark movies mainly the romance ones always have an English prince falling for an American woman. This is one of them.My Summer Prince is a 2016 romantic comedy about a young woman named Mandy(Taylor Cole)who works for a PR named Deirdre(Dumb and Dumber's Lauren Holly)who wants to scoop news on a wild prince named Colin(Jack Taylor). Problems arise when Mandy pretends to be Deirdre and falls in love with the prince who thinks that she is Deirdre. But when he finds out that Deirdre is Mandy will they both live happily ever afterThe plot is predictable, the chemistry is nice between Taylor Cole and Jack Taylor, and overall it was a sweet cliched rom com.Parts of it reminds me of How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days with Maid In Manhattan.Overall I give it 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.

W&M Libraries staff have been hard at work over the summer months. A few of them were excited to share their favorite project. Meghan Bryant, head of special collections public services & instruction, shares about her partnership with Steve Prince, the Muscarelle Museum's director of engagement and distinguished artist in residence, and their plan to launch a workshop in the fall.
Share about your favorite summer project:I reached out to Steve Prince to pitch a collaborative project between the Special Collections Research Center and the Muscarelle. It resulted in an upcoming workshop, which will take place this fall on October 22 & 23 from 10am-3pm. The workshop will include a visit to Special Collections to learn about the history of the book on the first day, and the second day will involve a visit to the Matoaka Studios, where participants will create their own linocut and print it on the press! There will be a materials fee of $30 ($25 for students or MMA members). The workshop is called Art of the Book and taught by Steve Prince and me.
LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Prince Harry announced on Tuesday he will leave the armed forces after a decade of service that included two tours of duty in Afghanistan. Queen Elizabeth's 30-year-old grandson, the fourth-in-line to the throne, said he would quit the military in June following a four-week secondment with the Australian Defence Force. \"The experiences I have had over the last 10 years will stay with me for the rest of my life. For that I will always be hugely grateful,\" said Harry, calling it a \"really tough decision\". \"I am considering the options for the future and I am really excited about the possibilities.\" Known in the army as Captain Harry Wales, the prince started officer training at the Sandhurst military training college in 2005. He undertook his first tour of Afghanistan in late 2007, and then went on to train as an Apache attack helicopter pilot. He went on a second Afghan tour as an Apache pilot between September 2012 and January 2013, but quit front-line military roles for a desk job last year. Like his father and elder brother William, Harry has taken on more official duties as the 88-year-old queen scales back her workload. His military role enhanced his popularity in Britain and helped overcome his earlier reputation as a royal wild child, despite a setback in 2012 when he was photographed partying naked and playing billiards in a private room in Las Vegas. His office said Harry, who will drop to fifth in the line of succession with the birth of William's second child later this year, would carry out voluntary work in the summer to learn more about conservation work in sub-Saharan Africa. He will then return to work at the Ministry of Defence on a voluntary basis on its Recovery Ability Programme, while \"considering other longer term employment opportunities\", and continue his involvement in the Invictus Games - an international sporting event for wounded service personnel. \"I am very pleased that his first taste of civilian life later this year will involve a new role in support of our injured servicemen and women,\" said General Nicholas Carter, Chief of Britain's General Staff. \"He has raised their profile through the care he has shown them and they admire him hugely,\" he said.
